Meet Mirian: This piece was made by artisan Mirian San Jorge La Laguna, Sololá. Mirian is an inspiring and talented artisan. Her creativity, attention to detail, and desire to make new and unique products make her a key participant of the Artisan Program. The motivation behind her work is to create a better life and more opportunities primarily for her two sons, but also for her family and community. When Mirian receives large orders, she is able to employ 9 other women in her community!

He began making hats when he was 15, and now at 70 he can practically make them with his eyes closed…or at least with out a guide! His son Santos (blue shirt) helps run the business.
