DESCRIPTION: All of our woven bowls are created from dyed natural sisal fibers woven over a core of forest grasses. The weavers begin in the middle of the bowl, carefully threading the sisal around and around to create this beautiful design. The tea color is created when the naturally-white sisal fibers are steeped in Rwandan-grown tea leaves!
The large woven bowl is flat on the bottom and makes a beautiful tray for serving or display. Each woven bowl has a loop on the back for hanging- the set combined with other Azizi Life bowl designs makes for the perfectly curated bowl wall.

Artisans carve our bowls from local Musave wood, a tree which regrows after it has been cut. The all-natural brown and black finishes are made using an innovative polish of soot from neighboring kitchens. The light color is simply the natural, unfinished Musave wood.
All-Natural Finishes: Natural Light, Medium Soot Finish, + Dark Soot Finish
Note: The final buffing process of the soot finish creates a degree of colorfastness but due to the natural finishing process, some transfer of color is possible. Avoid abrasive movement of the soot-finished bowls across light colored surfaces.

Artisans use a specially designed, handmade needle to thread dried banana leaves around the banana stalks. The result is a super-sturdy tray that’s great for carrying all kinds of things. Azizi Life's co-founder uses the square serving tray to carry glasses out to her guests. But her absolute favorite way to use this tray is to serve tea.
